Anna Pluck – Anxiety Therapist
Alongside my psychotherapy practice, I regularly contribute to podcasts, publish articles, and write blog posts to give you practical strategies you can use when life feels overwhelming. My blogs are written with the issues faced by my clients in mind so reading these will give you a feel for how working with me might be. Whether you are a client or not I hope you find a blog post that helps you feel understood or gives you some coping skills.
There’s a lot of noise out there when it comes to mental health, and not all of it is helpful, some dangerous! You won’t find toxic positivity, vague advice, or blame-based narratives here. I don’t believe in telling people to “just think positive” or “manifest their way out of burnout.” That kind of advice often leaves people feeling like they’re the problem when it doesn’t work, and I’ve seen firsthand how damaging that can be.
You will find grounded, practical tools to help you develop self-awareness, build confidence, and feel more in control of your mental health. My content reflects how I work as a therapist: warm, honest, evidence-based, and always with your real life in mind. I know it’s not realistic for most people to spend years in therapy or to do 2 hours of yoga and meditation every day so I don’t suggest any of things.
This page brings all of my podcast appearances and articles together in one place.
Podcasts
Overcoming Anxiety – with Anna Pluck on Don’t get a Therapist… Yet by Wendy Castellino
In this episode, I talk about what anxiety really is, why it shows up in the body the way it does (yes, even when you’re not in actual danger), and how to build confidence in your ability to cope. We bust myths, dive into physical symptoms, and look at how to get out of the “I can’t cope” spiral.
How to Beat Teacher Burnout – Guest Episode on The Burnout Recovery Podcast
I joined Rowena Hicks to talk about burnout in high-pressure roles (not just teaching). We explored how anxiety fuels perfectionism, what happens when your job becomes your identity, and why rest isn’t laziness — it’s strategy.
