Registered Psychotherapist (BACP) | AXA & BUPA-Approved | Anxiety Specialist on the Wirral
Coming through insurance? You’re in the right place.
If you are using private insurance, the process is simple.
I am an approved therapist with:
- AXA
- BUPA
- WPA
- Aviva
- Vitality
If your insurer isn’t listed, I may still be able to work with them—check with your provider.
About My Practice
I specialise in supporting adults who are struggling with anxiety, overwhelm, and persistent stress. My clients often describe feeling stuck, exhausted, or unable to switch their mind off. Therapy offers a space to slow down, understand what’s happening, and find a way forward.
You can work with me:
Online (UK-wide)
In person on the Wirral (Birkenhead) or in Chester
With flexible appointment times, including evenings
- No waitlist – I can usually offer an appointment within days
I offer a calm, confidential, and supportive environment where you can talk openly without fear of judgement.

How to book through your insurance
The process is straightforward:
- Contact your insurer and request therapy sessions.
- They’ll provide an authorisation code.
- You can book your appointment using the link below. Before your first session, I will be in touch to ask you to complete a short form with your insurer details.
- I’ll confirm your session and bill your insurer directly. You won’t need to pay anything unless there are charges not covered by your insurance (for example, excess or late cancellations)
If you’re unsure about any step, I’m happy to guide you.
HEALTH CASHBACK SCHEMES
Some cashback plans—such as HealthShield, Medicash, or Simplyhealth—may reimburse you for counselling sessions.
With these plans, you:
Pay me directly for your session
Submit a receipt to your provider to claim your money back
Double-check with your scheme to confirm counselling is included in your plan – I am always happy to issue receipts to allow you to claim the cost back.
I understand that reaching out for help requires courage, especially when life already feels overwhelming. If you are ready to begin I am here to help.
Or if you’d like to ask questions first you can book a free 20 min intro call or pop me an email on anna@annapluck.com
Insurance Providers I Work With
I am currently registered with:
- AXA – provider number AP05636
- BUPA – provider number 30062400
- AVIVA – provider number 600172963
- Vitality – provider number SP116588
- WPA – provider number 921421444
What if I am not covered by insurance?
You don’t have to come through insurance – many of my clients pay me directly for therapy.
What if my insurer only covers part of the cost?
If your insurer limits the amount you can claim or you have an excess on your policy, you will need to pay the amount not covered. I strongly advise you to check with your insurance company how much coverage you have before starting therapy.
What if I have private insurance and am a member of a health cashback scheme?
You’ll usually need to choose one route. It’s best to call your providers and ask which gives the best coverage.
How many sessions can I have?
Your policy will have a limit for mental health claims – if you reach that limit and you are no longer eligible to claim for treatment from your insurer, you would be able to continue therapy and pay me directly
Can I start therapy before my insurer authorises it as I don't want to wait too long.
Your insurers might not cover you for sessions that took place before they authorised the therapy. In that case you would need to pay me directly.
